Ah-Kee Thiang was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He lived on Petaling Street, directly across the Cinema and above a popular restaurant. At age 19 Kee moved to West Hemstead, England. At a pub called Swiss Cottage he met a Moroccan girl named Rachel. The two married and started a family. Before the birth of his first daughter Kee bought an Olympus-35.  He used it to make photographs of his wife and children. Kee and Rachel have lived with their children in England, Sweden, Singapore, Israel, and Canada.
